Hey guys this is actually my first post here. I've been a huge creeper but I figured it was time to come out of the woodwork. Just in case any of you applied to UT Austin's Comp Lit program, their acceptances are out! Check your emails!

Good luck!

Hey everyone, hopping on this thread right now. Comp Lit applicant and haven't heard from a single school yet. The wait is unbearable.

you're telling me. I'm just wasting my time here and I am carrying my sedatives everywhere I go. Even then it's hard to sleep. When it's hard to sleep sedated you know there's a problem. I got 3 British acceptances but I'm scared about funding...........

Hey, congrats on those-- at least you've heard from somewhere! But yeah, it's frustrating. And I'm terrified I won't get in anywhere, because I haven't exactly made any backup plans....

Hang in there!

well best of luck >_< I haven't even begun sedating and I'm already spaced out. I'm pretty sure something is wrong.

I feel the same way... spacing out in the office right now.

Thank you! Also, if you're in Singapore, we must be on a similar timezone!

we are!! whacha working on? I think that the American system is designed to turn everyone into gibbering neurotics. Even if one wasn't like that to begin with. Perhaps it's one of those 'it's a fine line between insanity and genius' notions at work. So if they drive all of us very near insanity, some of us will turn into geniuses

Just editing pieces that are going into this month's magazine, but it's going slowly. Coffee time.

And I agree wholeheartedly! The one thing I'll say is good about the American system is that it's not so test-oriented. Well, that's good for me at least.

not so test oriented? what about the disgusting GREs? I'm jobless but feel too listless even to inebriate. Whee.

Meh. The GREs are just part of the package. I don't think it makes or breaks your decision-- at least, that's what I keep telling myself.

What about watching some embarrassingly awesome TV show? That's what I would be doing if I wasn't at work.

Ok comp lit folks, I finally cracked and emailed Berkeley asking about decisions. Was told that successful applicants would be notified early next week.

My chance of getting in: 0.0000001 on scale of 10.

Stress level: 100000000 on scale of 10.

I think my chances and stress levels are equal to yours... I feel positively queasy! Still, may I applaud your bravery in contacting them? Edited by Katla

LOL. you never know. Now can you email USC and all the other UCs in complit for me and see what they say?

Maybe we should just divide all the unis between us and start harassing them for information?

Yes! That would be hilarious! We should all email the programs we did NOT apply to!

I'm ready. Bring it on.
