Chele Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 I was wondering what I should do in this situation. I'm applying for PhD programs in Communication and received the following scores: My first GRE scores were: Verbal 155 (67%) Quant 145 (21%) Writing 4.5 (80%) My second GRE scores were: Verbal 155 (67%) Quant 142 (12%) Writing 5.0 (93%) I'm wondering if I should send both scores or just the first ones? My Math score is pretty low on the second one, which is a shame because my Writing score improved. But I'm just worried that the Math will be a major detriment if I send the second one. Thank you in advance for any opinions.
janaca Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 I might just sent them both? That way, programs will be able to see that you're a strong writer and that you're capable for improving your AWA score, and they'll be able to see your higher math score, too. The problem with just submitting the second score is that you might not meet the universities' minimum requirements for Q and that departments that liked the rest of your application might have trouble getting you in.... If they had both sets of Quant scores, though, they might just be able to count the higher one to get you to meet minimum score requirements in that section?
