alb9284 Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 Hi all, I took the GRE last week without any preparation & got a 155V, 147Q (ouch) and 4.0AW I'm applying to UNC-Chapel Hill's M.A. of Mass Communication (journalism) program. I'm studying this week to hopefully raise all of my scores, although their site states that the last class's averages were 158V, 157Q, & 4.5AW... The MINIMUM GPA is 3.0, mine is 3.7 (4.0 in-major) -graduated with a major in creative writing, minors in English and journalism -studied abroad in Australia for a year where I studied graphic design -have been published several times -currently write for an online news site -worked for my University's paper -worked for my University's Office of University Relations -Have worked up the ranks over the past year in my marketing firm from being a social media intern, to a social media strategist, to a brand manager, to the head content editor for a company of 200 Am I totally screwed, or is it possible to increase this much just by studying a little bit? Even if I bomb it, is there even a slight chance I'd get in with my current scores?
