ACardella Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Undergrad GPA: 3.55 Speech and Hearing Science Major Psychology of Children with Exceptionalities Minor GRE Verbal: 145, Quantitative: 150, AW: 3.0 I would like to stay in the NY/NJ/PA area but I know it is extremely competitive. My GRE scores aren't the best but does anyone know of schools that I could potentially get into!? I have looked out of state and it does not seem any less competitive. I've been researching so much and am feeling overwhelmed by seeing so many high GPA & GRE scores. Does anyone have advice!?
Bkallen Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Hi....Western Kentucky University has a cohort for NY residents only. Its hard to get into their general online cohort but not sure about NY resident cohort. Good luck...it can be so frustrating.
Bkallen Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Also, i believe they require 3.5 for writing.
caterpillar Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Check out this thread to start: Most of the participants there were in a similar situation to you, GRE/gradewise, and there were many success stories.
lookwhoslp Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 I'd suggest looking at the results page on this forum. Just type in the school and "speech" and it'll show you results for people applied in past years and what they might've had scores-wise. ASHA's EdFind also lists (possibly outdated) scores info for each school.
