lauralei Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 Hi, I'm considering applying to I/O Psych and/or HR masters programs and am having trouble getting accurate information on the real differences between the two in terms of focus, types of positions, job prospects, salary etc. What's the job outlook like for graduates from these disciplines? Do people usually apply to both types of programs? Is it generally harder (GRE, GPA, internships etc.) to get into one type of program over another? How important is the school ranking in these fields compared to say, law, where the school you go to makes all the difference in terms of employment upon graduation? If so, a short list of the best programs would be very helpful!!! It might be important to note that I majored in psychology in undergrad and have my JD. It would be nice (but not critical) to combine the degrees in some way so that I may utilize skills from both arenas. Is there any other field (psychology or otherwise) where my background may be of use? Any advice/input would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance for all your help!!
