ragnero Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 (edited) Here are my stats: University: Ranked top 20 Major: Joint major in Physics and Computer Science GPA: approximately 3.4 (I transferred, 3.87 at one and 3.2 + at the other) Research: 2 years research experience, upcoming publication (not early enough to add on to the applications) GRE: Q160, V154, 4.0 I've applied to three top Universities ranked 30-50 in CS for a MSc, is this the range I can hope to be accepted into? Should I apply to more schools? Edited December 15, 2014 by ragnero
s_rez87 Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 If you could get solid recommendation letters I don't see why you shouldn't apply to some 10-30 schools. GRE might be a little low for top 10 but you never know.
ragnero Posted December 16, 2014 Author Posted December 16, 2014 Any recommendations on where to apply? I'm currently involved in social informatics and data mining, but I'm really open for anything.
s_rez87 Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 I'm not familiar with those subjects but you should visit individual school websites to see what they're looking for. You could also look at the faculty and see if any professor's specialize in those subjects and e-mail them. If a professor is interested in you that greatly increases your chances.
