Anyone have any insight into how much info to include with each portfolio image?  Just a material description, or is it appropriate to get into the conceptual elements of the work?

Many thanks!

Depends on the kind of work. If it's straightforward painting or sculpture, then a material description should do. If there's a time/space component or something unusual then you can give more of a description e.g. site specific installation, performance pieces not documented on video, details that can't be photographed, etc. Basically, give descriptions if the work really needs it to be understood . Otherwise, it should speak for itself.
