bhand Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 I just received my GRE scores, and I got 161 V / 165 Q / 3.0 AW. Considering I hardly studied for the GRE at all, I am certain I could do much better (especially on the writing portion). While I am currently scheduled to retake the GRE in two weeks, one of the schools I am applying to (MS Statistics at UC Davis) has a January 15th priority deadline. Should I apply with my current scores and meet the priority deadline, or should I wait to apply with the scores from the retake later this month?
Stat Assistant Professor Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 I wouldn't bother retaking it. Just go ahead and apply.
Voronoi Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 I can't speak specifically about UC Davis, but my guess is that most statistics care very little (if at all) about the analytical writing score; the quantitative one is what really matters.
