indestructables Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Hi everyone. I'm finishing a master's program and am starting to look at PhD programs for application for the Fall 2016 semester. I'm finding some faculty at great schools whose research interests are very closely aligned with my own. However, I'm finding that some of these professors are housed in either educational psych or developmental psych programs. My research interests are actually very much at the intersection of these two disciplines, and I can see myself in either of these. However, a PhD in Developmental Psychology has been what I've had my eye on since I decided to pursue advanced degrees. My questions: -What are the implications of pursuing an Ed Psych degree instead of a Deveopmental Psych degree? -Would my job prospects at universities be improved one way or another? -Can I still pursue a degree in one if I'm working under a professor housed in the other? For example, could I still get a PhD in Developmental Psychology if I was working under a professor in Ed? Thanks much!
