SocialHealth Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 My mentor at Rutgers asked if I could come to Visit Day in March? Which of course I said yes. But I'm not sure if its an interview day or just a visit.
eeee1923 Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Well it can't hurt to treat it like an interview day. Which means read up a bit on the profs in the department and have a good idea about their research, but more than anything know your own research since you'll most likely be talking to someone about it. Dress appropriately and try to relax, most likely the program is trying to see if you will make a good fit and if nothing else it gives you an opportunity to address any concerns and questions you have about the program and see if you can see yourself pursuing graduate studies at the institute. Hopefully this helps a bit and good luck.
Victoris Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Always, always sustain communication with your prospective programs. In your case, ask your mentor for a brief agenda of the Visit Day to allow you to prepare and dress accordingly. Since he/she is your mentor, you should receive a definite answer.
SocialHealth Posted January 22, 2015 Author Posted January 22, 2015 Thanks guys I emailed my POI and they said it was a day filled with interviews and for me to let them know who I'd like to interview with.
