whittylin Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 Who has applied for PhD programs in Education Policy? Where have you applied? Have you heard back? I'll start: Applied: University of Pennsylvania, University of Georgia, Vanderbilt, Rutgers University, University of Washington, University of Pittsburgh I haven't heard anything. I am assuming that UPenn and Vanderbilt are rejections, as invitations to interview have already went out.
alittlebitofagita Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 I am going for educational policy and have not heard back from any school as of yet. UCLA comes out next week, I hear.
smichelle Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 I applied to one ed policy doctoral program at chapel hill and poi has already let me know that I've been nominated for a fellowship, so assuming that's an acceptance

I, too, applied to UNC Chapel Hill. If it's any affirmation that you are in, I completed my application in early- to mid-October, and I haven't heard a word. Perhaps you have been nominated for the Royster Fellowship? That would be amazing! On a side note, I didn't apply to PhD/Ed Policy; I applied EdD/Curriculum & Instruction. While the application/admission process may be slightly different, I can't help but think that the news you received bodes very well for you! Congratulations on what sounds like a very, very exciting possibility!
smichelle Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 Thanks all! Her letter of rec was really nice and well-written so hoping that I do get the fellowship since the soe is only allowed a certain number of nominees. She let me know that my application materials have already gone out to the university level of deliberation and official decisions for all would go out mid to late feb!

Now it's just a matter of how much they are going to give you! Congrats!
smichelle Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 Thanks! It's my first acceptance, so definitely breathing easier now!
TheMonkeyOnMyBack Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 So I am nervous (big surprise) getting ready start really gearing up for the application season and i wanted to see if you have a bit of advice (or words of encouragement) . I have a May 2016 graduation date where I should receive a JD, a MS in curriculum and Instruction, and a CAS in Disability Law and Policy. I have one publication out for review and am in the writing process on another. My big worry is my AW score only a 2.5 (I can not spell to save my life so the no spell check on the GRE was difficult for me) the rest of my GRE scores are ok not fantastic Q-160 V-162 What do you think??
