tek123 Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Hello! I am applying for master in CS for UCLA and UIUC, but I am getting really anxious because the application status still says 'submitted'. It's my first time applying so I am unsure, but isn't the status supposed to be updated as 'under review' by now? Should I call them? Wondering if there is anyone else in the same boat.
Red_Barron Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 The status updates vary from application to application and school to school but, generally speaking, seeing that it's "submitted" is a good indicator that it's "under review." Some programs, including several that I applied to, don't update the application site as "under review" (so it will continue to read "submitted") but do email candidates to inform them the application is onto committee review. Some, including several I've applied to, do nothing at all and (I imagine) get some sort of twisted pleasure out of knowing that you'll be checking on your application status every day until there's a decision available. Short answer: don't worry about it. If you submitted the application by deadline and paid your fees, you're good. It's in their hands now. tek123 1
agrizz Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 I've gotten an invite to interview for a PhD program while the online status still says, "Submitted".
