Poustevnik Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Should I be concerned that some people are being offered interviews for a program and I haven't heard anything? Is it worth mentally preparing to now not be accepted by that program?
c m Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 I think it totally depends on the program and how they send out interview requests. Did you try searching past results to see how the interviews went last year? I.e. did the posts come in over a number of days/weeks or were they all at once? That has helped ease some of my own anxieties... Good luck!
Poustevnik Posted January 29, 2015 Author Posted January 29, 2015 Hmm, what's weird is that last year (according to the results search) they didn't offer any interviews at all :/
c m Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Doesn't mean they didn't; it just wasn't documented here, necessarily. It isn't a foolproof system, I suppose! Good luck!
thissiteispoison Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Some programs don't officially interview, but a specific professor might interview you if he or she has questions. In which case it means nothing that you haven't also received an interview. I wouldn't worry about it too much.
Poustevnik Posted January 30, 2015 Author Posted January 30, 2015 Thanks for the responses, everyone! C m, that's what I figured. Not everyone will have uploaded, but it was interesting to note, I think. And thissiteispoison, I'm just putting it out of my mind. The school's graduate info page says that an interview isn't necessary, so it suggests to me that they are just interview a select number of people. Though I'm not sure whether or not that is good news or bad!
