Hello, I am new here and I need your advice.

First of all, to give you all background, at the moment I am studying Media and Politics at IIRPS at Vilnius University, but before this I was studying literature, so yeah, you can say I was extremely confused when I started IIPRS this September.

So the problem is, I had to choose a subject, a theme for my Masters thesis two months after I started. And basically I panicked. My advisor was no help at all - "figure it out yourself".

And what I eventually ended up with was something like "Dynamics of internet censorship: Arab spring and China comparative analysis". It was meant to be about methods used to censor internet in China, about the impact it has on citizens’ voice, on resource mobilization, etc. And then maybe compare it all to the events of Arab spring, as in how are these cases similar / how do they differ?

But now, the more I read into it, the more desperate I feel. I have no idea what I'm doing. I can change the topic some, maybe I should get rid of the Arab spring and stick to China. Maybe I should concentrate on Hong Kong only, since most of the worlds’ internet is blocked in mainland China, and the VPN servers many people used to get access to Facebook&such are being blocked right now, so it would be complicated to talk about mobilization or anything of that nature in mainland China. I need to make it relevant and possible to achieve, but the biggest problem is I have no idea what material should I research (bearing in mind I don't speak Chinese), something I can make conclusions out off. It can't be just a description of internet censorship in China now, can it? But unfortunately that is where I am heading right now.

So here I am, confused and lost, hoping for your thoughts and advices.

And traditionally nervous about my English skills.
