tingdeh Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Noticed a good handful of them over the past few days, congrats to all of us! I'd just thought it'd be nice to get a scope of a potential cohort, and who might we see on campus visit day. I'm an international student so I'd probably have a pretty different background and potential experience at Udub than most would. But then again, don't we all?
stillalivetui Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Seattle is beyond amazing! I did my undergrad there and lived there an additional year when I took a year off for grad apps. If you choose the UW, you're gonna love the city and all it has to offer.
greengoose Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Unfortunately I have a conflicting visit already planned and won't be attending the UW visit day, but would love to hear your thoughts/impressions after the visit day!

A buddy of mine works for Amazon up there and pays the same per month for his rental as I do mine. I live in a 3 bedroom townhouse, he lives in a tiny apartment. Lots of coffee up there though. That is always good.

But it also depends where you live and if you have roommates.

Hi greengoose. I didn't apply to the PhD at UW, but I did study for my BA there. This included enrolling in some graduate coursework and getting to know a lot of the PhD students in the History Department, where I was also a student. I'll never run out of positive things to say about the department and my professors there. If you tell me what you intend to focus on, I may be able to give you some specifics, provided I know your proposed advisors. Let me know!
