st1980 Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 So I'm a licensed California attorney, with approximately 7 years of litigation practice under my belt. I applied to a handful of J schools (USC, Columbia, CUNY, Boston and Georgetown.) I've already been accepted to Georgetown, so I'm very happy I got into at least one of the schools to which I applied. I know that Columbia is SUPER competitive, and their admission rate is below 10%, but it would be a dream come true to get accepted there. Does anyone have any insight as to the chances of getting accepted to the MS in Journalism program at Columbia as a lawyer? I know that grades aren't always a deciding factor, but I graduated undergrad cum laude from UCLA, and I was part of a number of national and international honors societies. Any information would be greatly appreciated! Thx
grad_wannabe Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Hi st1980! Can I ask how your admissions process is going? A friend of mine is a licensed NY attorney and is applying to Art History PhDs and having little luck ... interested in your experience with j-schools.
