count_franken berry Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 Seriously, by this time the department should give me an answer one way or the other. It's almost unethical. It's not as if I don't have a job with a lot of responsibilities, or the fact that I have to uproot myself and travel hundreds of miles to a new country. I still have some hope that I will be admitted since this happened to me before. Last year Utoronto informed me of their decision less than 2 weeks before the start of school.
Stories Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 I know a friend who received an invitation 2 days before classes started off the waitlist (this was a medical school).
aginath Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 I know that one of the programs in my department at UGA wasn't making admissions decisions until Jul 20. It sucks, but at least they had a noticed on the website stating as much. I know in their case, much of the delay was in setting the program budget.

They haven't told you yet because classes haven't started yet. Some schools run a waitlist until fall, in case someone backs out during the summer. It sucks, but that's how it goes when the demand exceeds the supply--especially in medium to larger programs, or in programs where historically students have defected the summer before.
