boats15 Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 Well I see that a lot of acceptances for the masters program have already come out...but no rejects. Last year the rejects came out the Friday after acceptances. I am already counting myself as rejected but I don't want to close that door on myself until they do! I will be headed to the University of Michigan if MIT decides they don't want me! I am in the military and will be deploying soon. I would like to make all my travel arrangements prior to leaving since I will have minimal internet connectivity and will also have to fly out of a foreign port call to transfer to school. Doing all of my travel orders while at sea is going to be...fun.
grad_wannabe Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 I can't speak to MechE specifically, but I did my Master's at MIT and I'm still on the campus closing email list, and there have indeed been a few of those recently.
boats15 Posted February 20, 2015 Author Posted February 20, 2015 I just want to know so I can get my travel in order. I won't be devastated if it's a rejection since..well it's MIT! Side note: I really wish the application had more "bells and whistles". Like the ones that tell you what stage your application is in or if paper materials arrived.
grad_wannabe Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 I actually really like the stripped-down nature of the MIT app! I had one application (cough Stanford) that wouldn't give you a "table of contents" so you had to click through the sections, one-by-one, every single time you wanted to access different pages.
boats15 Posted February 20, 2015 Author Posted February 20, 2015 That is true. I had to do my apps via satellite internet and Michigan's app just would not load right. I had to email some stuff to the grad office.
waitwhat? Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Looks like letters are out, just got my first rejection...
