Niandra Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Hi everybody! I've just received an email from FIU, in which they tell me that I've been admitted to their doctoral program in Forensic Chemistry, and invite me to their visiting day at the end of March. There's no mention of stipend, fellowships, or money whatsoever, although I was told that each admitted grad student always receives a living stipend at FIU. I'm going to reply to the email, saying that I can't partecipate to the visiting day event (I'm Italian and I can't afford a Sardinia-Miami flight at the moment), but I don't know if it'd be appropriate to ask about the stipend, too... What would you suggest? Is it appropriate to ask about money at this stage? Or is it better if I'd wait for a possible further email on funding offers? Thanks in advance
Niandra Posted February 27, 2015 Author Posted February 27, 2015 (edited) Okay, I've been offered a TA I've just received the proper offer letter from the university Is there anyone else who's been admitted to FIU with a TA (20hrs/week)? I have 3 weeks to decide and I'm still waiting to hear from UCSB (although I guess they are going to reject my application). I don't know what to do! Edited February 27, 2015 by Niandra
