gel123 Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 The required length is 15-20 pages, is it possible to submit a 24-page writing sample (including one page of abstract)? Or the requirement just means that they would just read no more than 20 pages even if you submit a longer paper?
adepaola21 Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 In my personal experience, I submitted a longer writing sample around 25 pages with the required length being 20, and got accepted, but this may be different for each school. You might want to email each school and ask if this is acceptable.

I felt like I couldn't cut half of it and it was to the point in the process where I was so tired of everything that I basically just said "screw it, they can read as much as they want but I'm sending it all." I did that for two programs and got accepted to one of them. Who knows if my writing sample had anything to do with that. I would avoid it if you can. If it's a super competitive program they're probably looking for any reason to cut people and "not following directions" would be an easy one to throw out.
