Hi!

So I've read through a decent amount of posts revolving around the CIR program, but I've yet to get a decent idea of it. I had applied to UChicago's phD program, only to have been referred to CIR with half funding. Is this a good thing? I've been reading a bit about the program, but some of the impressions I've been getting contrast with each other. Some people say it's a good program and you get what you put into it, others have referred to it as a "cash cow" and implied that anyone could be accepted. I was just searching phD programs, so I've been thrown for a bit of a loop.

If anyone has some further insight into the nature of the program, I'd really appreciate it as I need to send a response relatively soon!

Thanks :)
