JHSPH MPH vs. MSPH

Are these two degrees at Hopkins significantly different? Apart from the 2-year work requirement for their MPH and the longer practicum for the MSPH, both the programs seem quite similar in terms of courses that need to be taken and skill sets that they develop. 

For people with international field experience but no medical degrees and research experience, which of these two degrees would be a better choice? Would finding jobs be easier with the MSPH?

The MSPH is an equivalent degree that is meant to be more intensive for people who don't have previous public health experience. Some people would say the MSPH is a better degree but it's not really better, it's just longer so that it can provide more preparation for students who haven't already worked in the field. If you're eligible for the MPH then you should probably choose that one.

How about for international students? The MSPH seems to be the better choice because of the longer practicum and gives more time to network for jobs?

Hi, I couldn't find a Facebook group for JHSPH MSPH class of 2017. From the Master's virtual session, it sounded like the school wasn't going to create one and was somewhat encouraging us to create our own. 

I just made a Facebook group for the MSPH International Health program and would love for you to join me! Seems like the group has to be at least 10 members big before anyone could find us using Facebook search. Feel free to invite anyone else who is in the program! Cheers!
