Marie2015Grad Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Hello. I applied to the following schools: Sac State, East Bay, Long Beach and Stanislaus. I haven't heard a peep. March/ mid April I should begin to receive admission decisions. I'm not sure what my chances are because my GPA isn't too great and my writing skills is below average I think. I do have plenty of experience in social work so I hope that made my application strong. I'm also involved in the Social Work club at my school. I performed well academically when I transferred to my school from a community college so that demonstrates I can perform at a above average level. What are my changes? The WAITING is driving me nuts!!!
EmmyJ Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Im in a similar situation, im so nervous because my GPA is not good 2.3 undergrad then went back to school as post undergrad recieved 2.9 ( all b's with some b- ). I applied to 4 schools which did not require GRE. I know everyone talks about having a strong LOR, but honestly i dont know what they look for as strong LOR. My personal statement i had reviewed by both social worker and academia, but still my gpa is my insecurity.
magfish Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 There's a whole board for social work programs! It's hidden under "professional degrees". They've got a lot of information about various American schools so you may have better luck looking there!
Marie2015Grad Posted September 9, 2015 Author Posted September 9, 2015 I got into a program so there is hope if GPA is low. I was SO worried about that. Best of luck to you! How did things workout?
