maew7 Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 hello! i'm wondering if anyone knows about the ethnic studies phd program at berkeley or other similar programs in the US. thanks so much!
melzp Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 Try searching on The ASA, American Studies Association. They have a list, and Berkeley is on it. Also, what specifically are you interested in doing in an Ethnic Sudies program? You can try to wikipedia Asian American Studies, Latino Studies ect...and see what University's or people pop up and what schools they are currently teaching at .
CarlieE Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 It depends on which ethnicity... My focus is on Southeast Asia - Uni of WI, Madison, NIU, Berkeley, Hawaii, Cornell, WashU are good choices for that... but it depends whether you're doing mainland or insular, and then what country you're focusing on... try looking for languages - if they offer the language of the ethnicity you're interested in, that's a good sign On the other hand... I chose a school because of the POI, not because of the SEA dept (there is none where I am going)...
