lettuce Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Hi everyone, I'm trying to decide between NYU and Columbia for a degree in Data Science. There isn't much info available about these programs online because theyre quite new, so I wanted to attend the admitted students day for each program before making my decision. The problem is that Columbia's decision deadline is right before NYU's open house. Would it be a terrible idea to ask for an extension in this case? I'm not sure how serious it is to do that. I currently go to NYU so I have a general idea of what it's like there already, so maybe it isn't worth it. Thanks!
grindian Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Nope, you can definitely ask for an extension. Explain your dilemma honestly and ask. No issues with that. They know what situation you are in. I've got extensions from NYU and Stanford for my journalism program because I am awaiting funding decisions.
