Hello! I was hoping someone could help me with a question about conditional offers at Oxford. I'm an American applicant and I was recently made a conditional offer of an M.Phil. in Modern Languages. Here's the condition verbatim:

This offer is subject to the following academic condition(s):

Obtain a First Class, or equivalent in FHS

In order to complete your enrolment we must view your original academic transcript(s)

and these original(s) should be forwarded to us as soon as possible.

I'm confused because I obtained my final marks/diploma at college last year, and included a transcript of these in my application. Are they requesting my original transcript in order to verify that my grades are equivalent to a First Class in FHS? If anyone can shed light on this, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you!

They require a sealed transcript from your university, with an envelope signed and sealed by the registrar. What you sent during the application probably counted as an unofficial transcript.
