CUNY Graduate Center | Graduate Teaching Fellowship and SSHRC

Hi! 

 

Newly admitted to CUNY GC for a PhD program with the 5 year Graduate Teaching Fellowship and was wondering if any current GC students can comment on when the biweekly paycheques start? I'm trying to budget out my summer right now. The registration for Fall begins in July, but classes don't start until August 27, and the funding guide says that the biweekly payments start at the beginning of term, with the stipend coming three weeks in. 

 

Furthermore, does anyone have experience with submitting a CGS-Doctoral SSHRC at CUNY? Who do you approach to sign it? The form needs to be submitted in August and the box says "Dean of Graduate Studies" but who at the GC should I approach directly?

For both questions, I suggest you approach your prospective department. Things may change between department so you should really just ask how it's done at yours. These questions are something the department's secretary should be able to easily answer for you.
