Abhyudaya Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Hi, I have got admit from BU and SUNY Buffalo for Masters in Computer Science. The only thing that is holding me back on Boston University is the expenses! BU education with living expenses costs 1.5-2 times the price of Buffalo. Post my Master's I am planning to get into the industry. Can someone please suggest the pros and cons of studying in these universities if you are familiar with them. Also, please inform if you have any idea about on campus employment opportunities in Boston University. How much can I earn working part time in Boston University? I would basically need that amount to at least partially fund my living expenses. Please compare the universities in terms of internship opportunities also. Boston seems to have better tie up with the industry. Thanks in advance.
billrach Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 Buffalo is pretty isolated. I believe IBM, Microsoft, and Bloomberg still recruit there though. Boston U probably attracts better recruiters. The location is much better. But you should still be able to get a decent job at Buffalo, it would just be easier at Boston. So if costs are a big issue, go to Buffalo. If you can afford to spend a little more, go to Boston.
