Just starting to think about applying for an MA program in security studies for Fall 2016.  Considering both terminal master's programs and those with a Ph.D. option.  Can someone in the know offer some wisdom on what are considered to be the top 5-10 security studies grad programs?  Thanks!

Check out Georgetown. I'm going to The George Washington University Elliott School of International Affairs) for security (another good program for security) , but they only do MA programs.  University of Denver is another good school that focuses on security studies. I believe that they do both MAs and PhDs there as well.

Ditto. Georgetown's Security Studies Program - https://css.georgetown.edu/ssp- would appear to be the best in the business and if you know you want to focus on security it is probably the place to be. Grads seem to go on to interesting and well-paying gigs. One caveat - their presentation/marketing of the degree is pretty atrocious and it appears to have a more of a 'commuter/evening school' feel than the traditional residential international affairs programs (like MSFS/SAIS/Fletcher MALD/SIPA) that feature more bonding and social connections.
