Hope everybody's doing fine. 

 

I intend to apply to art programs in the fall of 2016. I just graduated from college with a degree in Economics, so how relevant would my cgpa be for an MFA? Do art programs have a cgpa cut-off? Any help would be highly appreciated.

It doesn't really matter. Unless your applying to a state university, in which most have a minimum undergrad GPA of 3.0 to be accepted. But otherwise it's mostly irrelevant.
