rohit_koc018 Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 The following appeared as a letter to the editor from a Central Plaza store owner. "Over the past two years, the number of shoppers in Central Plaza has been steadily decreasing while the popularity of skateboarding has increased dramatically. Many Central Plaza store owners believe that the decrease in their business is due to the number of skateboard users in the plaza. There has also been a dramatic increase in the amount of litter and vandalism throughout the plaza. Thus, we recommend that the city prohibit skateboarding in Central Plaza. If skateboarding is prohibited here, we predict that business in Central Plaza will return to its previously high levels." Write a response in which you discuss what questions would need to be answered in order to decide whether the recommendation is likely to have the predicted result. Be sure to explain how the answers to these questions would help to evaluate the recommendation. there is absolutely no relation between skateboarding and decrease in customers . just think isn't skateboarding inside plaza . isn't that mean skateboarders are also customers whether they shop are not .ok if we feel that customers are really only shoppers then just place a cost on skateboarding per hour a person or day a person daily ticket pass or so. this will improve the customers at the same time plaza will get profit and also skateboarders will be happy. according to the argument prohibition of skateboarders causes increase in plaza's profit but what they cannot realize is it is quite opposite as if skateboarders are banned as the shoppers are low already the whole plaza will be empty or may be even banned as they are the major customers . moreover it is not clear whether skateboarding is the only aspect or not.whether any other sports are conducted in that plaza . are the same persons coming always.whether the vandalism is actually caused especially by skate boards arenot there any skate parks near by.is the park occupied by some other player or even other sports players . i asked the above questions as it is possible that the skateboarders may be there but not exactly the cause of vandalism as there may be other sports people who were causing vandalism but placing it on the skateboarders which also means even if we ban skateboarding vandalism will continue but skateboarder will be sad if the same people coming always there might be a chance that they doing it on purpose causing vandalism and spoiling name of all skateboarders which is also a fact we should count in. considering above factors we conclude the decision in the argument.
