MHC2010 Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 Hi all, I'm currently a first semester senior and thinking about applying to the Wagner (NYU) MPA program in public and non-profit management. I have not taken the GRE. I know that it is not required, but I'm sure it couldn't hurt. My stats are: 3.7 GPA at Top 25 Liberal Arts College internship at non-profit (focused on immigration issues) owner of sweatshop-free, ethical clothing company fellowships in community based learning programs three years in UG (teaching in low-income areas, doing research, etc.) Should I apply now and see what happens or try to take the GRE? Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.
riz1 Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Are you in a position where you could take the GRE now AND apply? That might be best. Even if Wagner doesn't require GRE scores, I imagine the majority of applicants in your pool will be taking the test and submitting their results. That relative disparity might hurt your chances.
linden Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 I would work for a few years and use that GPA and your work experience to try my chances at other programs.
