So, I applied for a doctorate in education with emphasis in curriculum and instruction. I got an email stating that I was recommended for admission and pending approval from the graduate school. I was assigned a cohort and an academic advisor, but instructed to wait until I have gotten my admission letter from the graduate school.

Does this essentially mean that I have been accepted? I don't know if I should continue to be nervous or celebrate. At the same time why would I be assigned to a cohort and an advisor? What has been the overall admissions experience from everyone else?
