bme44 Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Hi everyone,I just took the GRE recently and have been looking at admission standards on U.S. News' website. I was wondering if anyone has some insight on how difficult some types of engineering are to get into than others. I am specifically interested in how a biomedical engineering Ph.D program would be compared to "the average" engineering Ph.D that U.S. News' seems to report.
madbiochemist Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 That totally depends on which school you're applying to and what fields they really excel at. For example, a school like WashU has a really high standard of admission for BME, but a bit less so for other majors. A school might have an amazing aerospace engineering program but an average chemical engineering program; it would be easier to become Chem-E there. The competitiveness depends completely on the department.
marian24 Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 i agree with madbiochemist. Look up the top universites offering this major and find out from them.
