ilovebunnies Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 I've read a lot of the other posts asking about GRE scores and many of the responses have been helpful....But I haven't found any with scores that are similar to mine, and I'm wondering what insight you all might have into how admissions committees will view them. So, here's what I scored:Quant: 155Verbal: 169Writing: 6I'll be applying to clinical psych programs this fall...thoughts on whether I should try to bring up my quant score? I'm taking the psych subject GRE toward the end of September (or maybe in October, if I need more time) and I have a full-time (very demanding) RA job, so I might not have sufficient time to study more for the general GRE anyway. If the way lower quant score looks like a huge red flag, though, it seems at least worth trying to bring it up...I fear that the 155 may stand out even more negatively because of the discrepancy between that and my verbal & analytical scores. I actually find the math to be pretty easy for the most part (my practice test quant scores were consistently in the low to mid 160s), but I struggle with major test anxiety when taking timed math tests. Any comments will be greatly appreciated!
Rose Tyler Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Have you checked the previous average scores for accepted students at the programs that you're looking to apply to? That should give you an idea if your scores are in line with what those programs are looking for. If they are and unless you really think that you can raise your score, I don't think there's any reason to take the test again.
