University Housing Petition

Hello,

I am writing to ask for support from my fellow graduate students at other institutions. Recently the University of Vermont has announced that they are going to sell their apartments and family housing. I'm sure the international students here know how difficult it is to find a place to live in the US when you first move over. It is also quite difficult for people recruited from the western side of the US. Not to mention the market here in Burlington is very saturated, with high housing costs and an exceptionally low vacancy rate for existing apartments. The university apartments provide a needed alternative to overpriced, shoddily maintained apartments in town.
