cheltroy Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 Much to my horror, I was addressed by my SLP supervisor (I'm an SLPA) today about how she forgot to send in my letters of recommendation to the schools that were due yesterday (9/15). I panicked, found phone numbers, and she will be contacting the universities to see if they will allow her to submit her recommendation late. Did this just blow my chances for 3 out of the 9 schools I've applied for? Has anyone had this happen to them?
fuzzylogician Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 Schools tend to have a grace period for LORs. They don't usually start reviewing applications until some time after the deadline has passed, and they know students can't control when professors submit their letters. As long as the letters arrive before the schools actually start reading the applications (which I would bet is in at least another week, maybe two), you should be fine. cheltroy 1
litesneeze Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 I actually had faced this issue. As long as you have submitted your application by the due date, have submitted the application fee and have recieved a confirmation you're good. It takes time to get through all the apps. One of my recommenders submitted her recs in for four schools a day later. I got into 3 of those 4 schools. It'll be okay.
TakeruK Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 This happened to me for one school and it was no problem at all
