Hey guys,

I know everyone hates the "what are my chances" threads but I can think of no other way to either calm my fears or confirm my worries.

I am currently a senior biological anthropology major at a top 15 university, but because of a rocky road with pre-med classes my GPA is only a 3.3 (3.5 major GPA). Most of my poor grades are concentrated in Freshman and Sophomore year though, and I have made the Dean's List several times since.

My GRE score is pretty sub par. 156 Verbal, 160 Quant, 4.5 Writing. I can't re-take because I am studying abroad.

Fortunately, I have a ton of research experience. I will be graduating with 3 publications from a biomedical nanotechnology lab that I worked in, as well as 1 potential publication from a biological anthropology study that I worked on this past summer. I also have experience as a research technician at the university's medical school (primarily phlebotomy). I will be attending the HBA conference this year to present this summer's research. I also work for the Director of Graduate Studies in Anthropology as her administrative and research assistant.

Two of my letters of recommendation are from the head of the Anthropology department (the PI of my summer research and former professor) and the director of Anthropology graduate studies (my employer).

Unfortunately, I am most interested in the programs at top universities, so I was wondering what you guys think my chances would be?

Also, if anyone has any suggestions for improving my application -- please do let me know!
