HaleyMArganbright Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 I am going to be graduating this spring from UC Berkeley with my B.A in Psych with intentions to then get my MSW after taking some time off. Right now I am trying to figure out what kind of experience I should be getting during my gap year(s) to better my chances of admission to a MSW program. I had been thinking about doing Teach For America and am pretty excited about it. however, it was mentioned to me that since TFA is 2 years I might as well do peace corps and that would look better? Can anyone speak to the validity of that statement or have any advice? Much appreciated
CJMSW Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 I think it all depends on what your goals are within the world of social work. Are you interested in clinical, generalist, macro...etc? Is there a specific demographic or setting you picture your career with?
