Hi all,

I have just taken my GRE and got the unoffical scores of Q:168 and V:145. I must admit that the verbal score was expected since my native language in not English. Anyways, to prove the language proficieny I have taken TOEFL and scored 111 which is a decent score in my opinion. I am planning to have my masters in the field of civil engineering and  apply to top tier universities such as MIT,Stanford,UC Berkeley etc. So, I would like to ask you if I need to retake the GRE to improve my verbal score or just stick with this one since the TOEFL is above average for  the programs I am applying? Thank you all!

yes. you are competing with native speakers with the GRE and if something they take non native speakers' scores more seriously. I am not sure why they even ask for TOEFL.
