dubec33 Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 I'm looking for some advice on how possible odds would be for Phd programs and advice of whether to wait a yr to build resume further or apply now. Interested in Phd in organic chemistry or Medicinal ChemistryFrosh yr- went to university 0.98 GPA fall semester got expelled drugs and alcoholCommunity college-BS Biology 3.45 GPABS Biochem Rowan University- 3.1 GPA only 1 semester of research experience which was in Organic chemWorked pharmaceutical company 3 yrs as operator then microbiologist while working on MS Biotech Johns Hopkins until quit last March to proceed MS full time. Also worked as Chemistry lab professor for Gen Chem 1 and 2 for a semesterWill graduate in May from JHU with my masters GPA is currently a 3.75 and at the end of semester if all A's will be a 3.86. Planning to try volunteer in a research group at either NCI or NIH. Took GRE 3 yrs ago scores were V 153 (59%) Q 151 (45%) and A 4.0 (56%). Would like to apply to programs now without retaking GRE. Probably will need to. Please advise!Looked into the following Med Chem Phd programs: MCPHS, Univ Michigan, Univ Pitt, VCU, UCSD, Northeastern, RPI and Rutgers
