Part-time Job Opportunity for MBA students in Boston area!

Hi all,

An English language school is Boston is looking for a MBA student, recent grad, or very talented undergraduate with a background and training in business and entrepreneurship to create an exciting 2-week course of international students between 11-17 years old.

 

The Entrepreneurship Program will combine academics, training games, and projects to help students understand the ecosystem of a business and how leadership impacts success. The students in this program must develop a business plan that they will present at the end of the two-week course.

 

 

The course must provide sufficient material for two 100-minute sessions a day, five days a week, and will be taught by MBA students.

 

Using a schedule that has already been created, the Developer will create appropriate lesson plans, materials, and teaching guidelines, which will be used by Entrepreneurship Program Instructors in the summer time. The Developer will be expected to deliver a high-quality and relevant lesson plan and course within specified deadlines leading up to the summer.

 

This is an opportunity that is mostly self-led, with the developer creating and meeting their own deadlines with the guidance of the Junior Programs Department. This is a part-time position with no set hours, just deadlines. The Developer will be expected to provide teaching aids for the teachers of the program in the summer, provide some advising over the summer, and create a dynamic and interesting curriculum.

 

Responsibilities:

 

The Developer is responsible for managing all aspects of the course development projects, which include:

 

  • Meeting all project deadlines set by the Junior Programs Director;

  • Creating an assessment for the pitch contest to be used at both programs.

  • Develop criteria for and assist in hiring teaching staff for the programs (around 2-4 instructors)

  • Create a post-course evaluation for students and staff

  • Be available to provide program support during the four weeks of the program.

The Ideal Candidate:

 

  • Possesses working knowledge of course writing and business terminology.

  • Possesses good organizational skills, time management skills, and be flexible.

  • Have comprehensive knowledge of current business theories principles, and practices.

  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently

  • Have experience in developing creative and engaging materials for high-school aged students (i.e., a TA in a class, a tutor, a Teaching Assistant in a foreign country, etc.).

  • Have a BA or BS degree in Business or a related degree

  • Have a minimum of 2 years' in work experience in business, in addition to any course completed or in process

  • Experience working with students of diverse backgrounds is a great advantage

  • Available throughout the Program duration on a consulting basis

  • **Exceptional undergraduates studying business or entrepreneurship and with demonstrated theoretical and practical knowledge of entrepreneurship are encouraged to apply.
