I was just wondering if people knew how much the personal statement affects admission decisions for Berkeley or whether it's just used for (diversity) fellowships. Thanks.

You mean the diversity statement? I heard that it's not that important and it just needs to be decent, assuming you're one of Ronald Reagan's great descendants that doesn't qualify for diversity bonuses
