asiolar Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Hello. I am currently an undergraduate senior who will be graduating in the spring 2016. I have applied to many grad schools (U of Pitt, U of Washington in St. Louis, U of Maryland, Boston U, Cornell, George Mason U, U of Kansas, U of Delaware, etc) with an interest in American Art, particularly in 18th century portrait paintings and women sculptors of the 19th century. I am curious if there is a demand for Americanists in Canada. There is a place in my heart for Canada (particularly Montreal) and I would like to move there once I obtain my degree. I can't seem to find much about Americanists in that region, but I have noticed a few who take on Canadian art, with some background in 19th century America (much like McGill's Charmaine Nelson) and Native American art. I would greatly appreciate any input regarding this matter. Thank you.
