The most important characteristics of a society are usually defined by, for example, its culture, religion , social norms etc. Getting to know and understanding them is the easiest in major cities. Major cities are usually the cultural centres of a society and country, and many people live there. Furhermore the most influential people, politicians and authorities live in the major cities. Firstly, major cities are usually the cultural, religous center of a society. Many historical buildings, museums and other important features of a history of a society can be found there. Through to its history can a society be, at least partially, understand. Although in the rural, historical traditions usually live further than in a major town, cities often comprizes more traditions than other villages. Secondly, plenty of people live in major cities. Getting to know them can be a crucial part of understanding a society. The variety of citizens helps investigating the complexity of a society. How many different nations live together, what kind of different backgrounds exist and so on. One can understand what are the major works in the society, which people are highly appreciated. Additionally, the daily routine of a society can be observed in a major city. For example, what time do they start working. If only late in the morning, it serves as an explanation of the importance of nightlife. Thirdly, large companies usually headquarters in major cities, so do the authorities of a county, such as police or law-court. As multinational companies have a huge impact on a society, it is important to be familiar with them, and the changes they have been making. Whether the country is democratic or an other system is prevailing can be determined in the cities, as the parliament , if there is one, always lays in the capital city. Furthermore, information and news can be more easily acquired from a society in big cities, as their press is more vivid. Many newspapars are printed day-by-day and also several interpretations of news exist. In summary, a society can be understand by studying its major cities. They are the cultural and religious center, and the most people live there. In addition, the most important buildings are there and the most influential people live there, who have a huge impact on a society.
