tjb122982 Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 I'm graduating as an undergraduate in two months, and I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to do. I've decided that I'm going to take a year or two off from academics and work; trying to gain experience in a "practical" field. I think I know what want to do. I want to get two masters degree, in history and political science, and teach at a community college. Part of the reason that I want to work for a 1-2 years so I could work in the previous field while teaching adjunct. What do you think? Any information or opinions would be greatly appreciated.
jennesy Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 It's nearly impossible to get a teaching job with just a bachelor's. How will you teach as an adjunct next year without an MA? Do you have a teaching offer somewhere? I think that taking time off is a good idea, but if you know that you want to teach why bother getting experience in a "practical" field?
