Counseling PhD Interviews - HOW MANY DO THEY INVITE?

Hello everyone, (I also posted the same thing on applying for grad school section, but cannot delete the post for some reason..) I believe this is more appropriate category.

As I am waiting for interview invitations, I am wondering what my chances are after the interviews.

I got invited to 2 interviews (and they're on the same day).  Most schools I applied to say they usually accept 6- 8 people annually.  Do they invite 2X (20), or 3X(30) for interviews? Please share your experience.  -This will help me decide whether I go for in-person interviews or opt for Skype interviews...

It would be helpful to know

School name:

How many they were accepting:

How many attended the I/V day:

Good luck and thank you!

It varies by school. The general range is 20-25. The schools usually list this information on their website somewhere.

You should decide whether you do an in-person or Skype interview based on 1) which program you prefer and/or 2) which place you feel you have a better likelihood of admission. Honestly, #2 is pretty impossible to gauge. I, personally, would base my decision off of #1.

Either way, this is a great problem to have (as opposed to receiving less interviews or no interviews) and I wish you the best! You should be proud of yourself.

My program invited ~21, if I recall correctly, and accepted 5. This was last year. My friend who interviewed at Teacher's College said they invited ~40, but I'm not sure how many they accept each year. It usually seems like ~20 is the norm.
