iseedoug Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 I can't log in. However, that could just mean I am on a wait list??? right??? phospholipase 1
floop Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 It could also mean they are sending out notifications one by one and haven't gotten to you yet. iseedoug, faradayfangirl and phospholipase 3
chaparral Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 I got it too, but I will decline, since I already accepted GRFP. GRFP is better for my purposes, since I can put the fellowship on reserve the first year to use an institutional fellowship. But hey, I hope that means one of y'all on the waitlist will get an email saying you got it! Ocean-Atmos-Climate, iseedoug and biosci 3
chaparral Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 I have to say, I am really impressed with NDSEG this year. It sounds like the waiting process in previous years has been brutal, but this year they kept us informed on the Facebook page months in advance, with continued updates and a relatively early notification. Also, it sounds like they will be more clear about whether you are on the waitlist or not.
Munashi Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 Are you winners receiving email notifications or are you logging into the award site to check? Congrats, guys!
iseedoug Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 Congrats Chaparral! also....Thanks for declining! haha

Argon Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 People are logging on here https://ndseg.asee.org/award and it shows them. Your application page should also update I've been told.
floop Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 It's still telling me my password is wrong so I'm guessing I didn't get it.
ece64 Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 Samesies. Well at least I got a raise for passing quals this week. Puts my stipend up pretty close to the NDSEG, but it would have been nice to put on my resume.
Munashi Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 I can't log in either, so I guess I'm out of the race too. Congrats to winners!
faradayfangirl Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 you guys are awfully pessimistic... though I guess it's better to expect nothing than everything? iseedoug, phospholipase and swoarrior 3

swoarrior Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 Did anyone get an actual "wait-listed" email? I'm just wondering if there is no chance, or a almost no chance left.
iseedoug Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 (edited) Received rejection email at 1:38PM EST. Somewhat surprised because I received a wait-list in 2014 when I was coming into graduate school, and I am much better of a scientist now. Edited April 1, 2016 by iseedoug Adding information
forcejuggler4 Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 I received an "alternate selectee" notification and then immediately a rejection notification. I emailed the program team and they confirmed my status as an alternate selectee.
pterosaur Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 Welp, no NDSEG for me. It's weird that I've gotten one of the three fellowships I applied for so far, and it's been the most competitive of them. It's a crapshoot!
JonJazz Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 Someone should ask via Facebook or Twitter how many alternate selectees there actually are. If I had an account, I'd be all over it. They seem to be quite responsive in answering inquiries.
