wpg205 Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 How important is the submission of fall grades? I'm taking a bunch of higher level math, and I think my grades will be alright. This issue is I will be away from a computer until mid January, so I won't be able to upload my grades to applications until then. I did include the fact that I was taking them on my application. Is that too late for them to matter? I get the impression that fall grades are not particularly important, but I would like to hear others' thoughts.
terefere Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 Universities will want to see them. My school has the option of requesting the transcripts (now) to be sent only after grades are available. Perhaps your school can do the same. Otherwise ask somebody to request the transcripts for you.
wpg205 Posted December 20, 2015 Author Posted December 20, 2015 Thanks for the input. Let me clarify a little. I already have MA and BA, and have reported math grades up to real analysis/linear/calc III. I'm taking some more math now because I think it will be helpful, but I'm already reporting an abundance of classes and grades.
s1994 Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 My feeling is that it won't hurt -- as long as you have good grades during the fall. None of the committees will start reviewing the files until next semester, and that gives the staff plenty of time to add your fall grades to your file in order to make your application "more" complete. What's the point of not doing that then? However, if you are getting B's mostly and your program doesn't require your fall grades, then probably not submitting them would be a better idea.
