Educational institutions should actively encourage their students to choose fields of study that will prepare them for lucrative careers.
Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the claim. In developing and supporting your position, be sure to address the most compelling reasons and/or examples that could be used to challenge your position.

There are various reasons that families send their children to schools and oblige them to learn different sciences and branches of knowledge in educational institutions. Some families want to have a youngster who can is a doctor and makes a cure for diseases; on the other hand, some other families crave to have a boy who can is a pilot in his adulthood. Therefore, the reasons of the families are different but many of them cannot lead their children to reach these destinations and it is the responsibility of educational institutions as universities, schools or colleges to encourage students struggle hardly and choose fields of study which are beneficial both for themselves and for the society and at the same time can satiate their families wishes to have a doctor or a pilot child. Hence, not only the educational institutions shouldn’t actively encourage students to choose a money-making field of study, but also, they must elucidate different disadvantages of these kinds of careers for the students.

The first reason for my point of view which is in the opposition of the question’s statement is that the case must be considered precisely that the most important branch of knowledge which governments should pour money in it and support it are culture advantageous sciences as arts and literature. In most cases these sciences aren’t lucrative and the people who are working in these fields have financial troubles. As an example, painting is a wearisome kind of art which has different vicissitudes to reach its acme and alter it to a lucrative career. Also, being a newspaper critic or a author of novels in different countries have different worth, authors of the first-world countries are affluent whereas the authors of middle-eastern nations aren’t rich, but the fact is that these people are working just to strengthen the cultural basis of their nations and to raise flag of their countries between other countries to introduce their culture to people of other nations. Therefore, even though these sciences aren’t money-making, but they are beneficial for making a country name famous and to have a more gregarious and intellect people.

The other important reason is that the nation needs people who are brave and their fortitude will cause the country to preserve its frontiers from transgresses of the enemies. Hence, the schools should have programs which encourage students to be brave and to learn how to protect their country’s borders. Some educational institutions must breed students who will become soldiers and maybe they will lose their lives in the battles. Maybe some of them become martyrs and by this way they can be beneficial for their families, country, and society and as a result, they can bring a bright future for next generations. The only important criteria which universities or schools should learn to students are morality and beside its branches of sciences will adopt themselves with criterions of the morality in the society. Being a soldier for your country is the most important characteristic of morality that schools should encourage students to have it.

Moreover, basic sciences are worth to consider which in the time of researching in their fields of knowledge as chemistry, mathematics or physics isn't lucrative, but in a long run, they will be beneficial in from two different points of view. As an example, the chemists won’t have a luxury type of life and they have to research hardly in a wearisome way to elicit a reliable result which can lead to a beneficial product for people. They have to be awake in nights and days to reach their goals and most of them won’t gain their favorable results in their lifetime, but after the passage of years they can raise a great result which is beneficial for peoples and will make the chemists affluent. As another example, NASA is surveying mars to find water on its surface and its researches are running at least for 5 decades and no definite result has been published by this institution which include data about the presence of accessible water on the mars’ surface, but the fact is that the information about the atmosphere of this planet, the presence of life in millions years ago are great achievements that have encouraged students from different fields of knowledge to participate in the research programs of NASA. Hence, the sciences which have side-benefits at their current time and also have advantages for next generation to bring a good life for them are more important than lucrative careers.

In conclusion, an educational institution has the responsibility to strengthen the cultural basis of society, encourage students to participate in worldwide programs and encourage them to be brave and lose their lives in vital situations of wars in their country instead of encouraging them to pursue only lucrative careers.
